There's no shortage of advice about when to visit Disney World. Crowd calendars, school holiday guides, "avoid spring break" articles — most of them are built on historical patterns and word of mouth. What they rarely include is what hotels are actually charging right now for your chosen dates.
We track prices across 28 Disney-owned resorts every hour. Here's what the data says about the cheapest months to visit.
The Median Nightly Rate by Month
The table below shows the median hotel price per night across all resorts for each upcoming month — using the most recent price snapshot for every date. Median is more useful than average here because a few very expensive dates (Christmas, Easter) can skew averages significantly.

July and August Are Cheaper Than You'd Expect
The conventional wisdom is that July and August are expensive — peak summer, US school holidays, hot weather. And yes, the peaks are high (a single night can reach $1,600 in August). But the median price in those months is actually lower than September and significantly lower than April.
Why? Disney's pricing is date-specific, not month-wide. A Tuesday in mid-August can be significantly cheaper than a weekend in late September when a holiday event is running (Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, EPCOT Food & Wine). The median flattens out those spikes and shows you what a typical night actually costs.
For UK families, August is often the only viable option — school holidays restrict the choice. The data suggests you're not paying as much of a premium as you might think compared to travelling in September or spring.
September Has the Widest Range
September's median of $549 sits above July and August, but it has the single cheapest nightly rate in our entire dataset: $94 per night on a Value resort. It also has some of the most expensive nights we've seen — the Halloween events push prices to $1,640 on peak nights.
This makes September a planning challenge. The difference between a "good" and "bad" date in September can be hundreds of pounds per night. If you're visiting in September, checking specific dates matters more than any other month — a week either side can be dramatically different.
June 2027 Is the Cheapest Month We Track
June 2027 has the lowest median price in our dataset at $447 per night. This is likely a combination of factors: post-school year timing, no major holiday events, and the fact that Disney hasn't yet released deep discount codes for dates this far out (some of those dates currently show rack rates). Prices may fall further as June 2027 approaches and new offers load.
What This Doesn't Tell You
Cheap hotel prices don't always mean a cheap trip. Park ticket prices vary by date too, and Disney's date-based pricing for tickets often moves independently of hotel prices. A "cheap" hotel date can coincide with an expensive park ticket date.
It also doesn't factor in weather (June and August are peak hurricane season in Florida), or what's actually happening in the parks on those dates. But if hotel cost is your biggest variable, the data points clearly: late summer and June 2027 offer the most consistent value.
How to Find the Cheapest Specific Dates
The Pixie Rates heatmap shows every date colour-coded by price for each resort — you can see immediately which weeks are the cheapest for any hotel. The "Find cheapest stay" tool at the top of the page will find the cheapest consecutive run of nights for however many nights you're planning to book.
Prices update every hour. When Disney releases a new discount code, it tends to load overnight — you'll see it reflected in the tracker before most booking sites have updated.
